Time Management
Time Management Tips
Today, choose ONE job that needs to be done and start it.
Tonight, prepare everything you need to get going to morrow (i.e. put out the clothes you're goin gto wear, and put your car keys, backpack, and wallet in one place so they are ready to go in the morning)
Set every clock in your house 15 minutes fast and intentionally forget that you did.
If you don't like to forget what you have to do, write it down. Then forget about it, and concentrate on more important things than remembering.
Resolve today to put away everything you take out. Also, strangithen up one little corner of your work before something grows in it.
Next time your supervisor gives you an assignment ask "What's most important here?" (i.e. then find out what his or her priority is)
The next time you're asked to serve on a committee or to volunteer for something, instead of saying "yes" right away say "I need 24 hours to think it over."
The next time you meet a potential new employer at a networking function and they give you their business card write on the back of it where you met this person, what was discussed, and follow up with a call or email.
The next time you find yourself overwhelmed with a lot of things to do, identify only 3 top priorities each day until you complete them all.
Buy a calendar with large squares for writing extensive notes about your daily obligations, including your job schedule. Keep a small agenda or notepad with you to write down items to add to your calendar at home.
Take into account long weekends and vacations and mark them on your calendar. Decide which projects or assignments you can work on at home or on vacation.
